Cake Valentine's Day Box

Creating cute Valentine's Day Boxes are my favorite way to celebrate the holiday.  Although the Cupcake Box is still my favorite, this cake is a close second! For this project we used a cardboard box, crepe paper and tissue paper. We cut the box to make it look like a slice was taken out and glued it back together. We then used the crepe paper on the outside and top of the box to create a ruffled pattern.  To make the layered cake look we cut small squares of tissue paper and put a small amount of glue right in the middle. We also used this technique on the cupcake box as you can see in the picture below. To finish off the top we used a spray adhesive and put sprinkles all over the top.  Any ideas for what we should make this year?

Cupcake Valentine's Day Box

We had so much fun making this Cupcake Valentine's Day Box last year. This Cupcake box was so easy to make.  We found a bucket for the base and a round piece of styrofoam for the top.  We cut a hole in the styrofoam so there would be a place for kids to drop off Valentines.  We folded up card stock and glued it to the bucket to make the cupcake liner.  For the top of the cupcake we glued  squares of tissue paper. Just a little glue in the middle is enough.  This part takes awhile to get this full look! We spray painted a styrofoam ball for the cherry and cut out pieces of card stock for the sprinkles!
Not sure how we are going to top it this year!  Any ideas?

Baby Shower Brunch & Mimosa Bar

One of our favorite things to add at any party is a Mimosa Bar, or build your own drink station. It's an easy way to offer your guests a variety of drinks they can customize and it looks great!  We started with orange juice and champagne for a classic mimosa. We also chose to use Pineapple and Cranberry juice. Lemonade would also be a tasty choice, the possibilities are endless! We also had sparkling cider for our momma to be and guests who prefer a non alcoholic beverage. We added fresh berries to give our guests another way to customize their drink.  You can have custom drink tags and food labels made just for you!  Email Tiffany in our design shop for more info!
You can also purchase the Mimosa Bar banner in our party shop!

If a mimosa bar isn't your thing try a coffee bar!

Floral ice cubes are another great way to add a little detail to your mimosa bar or drink station. You can find a tutorial for floral ice cubes HERE.  For party favors our designer Tiffany made these custom baby in bloom tags and envelopes filled with flower seeds. They will be in our design shop soon!

Floral Ice Cubes

Floral ice cubes are the perfect way to add a little detail to a baby shower, wedding shower or any party! We followed the tutorial by Martha Stewart.  You can find it HERE

1. To get your ice clear, boil distilled water and let it cool.

2. To keep the flowers from floating to the top freeze the water in layers. Fill the tray a quarter full, then add flowers and freeze. Add more water and freeze again.

Martha suggests only using edible flowers, but we used our ice cubes in a champagne bucket so any flowers worked for us!

Fox Themed Baby Shower

A few months ago we had the pleasure of helping with this adorable fox themed baby shower! Sometimes we are tricked into thinking that baby girl showers are much cuter than boy showers! Boy were we wrong! The mom to be decorated her nursery with forest animals, so we knew we wanted to have a woodland feel to the party. We used a hanging twig backdrop and wood stumps to display the desserts to achieve our woodland theme!  What would be a better thank you gift for a forest themed shower than trail mix!? The bags of trail mix were embellished with a thank you tag that matched our fox print on the dessert table.  We later gave the mom to be the adorable frame and fox print for her nursery.  You can purchase fox print, thank you tags and invitations in our design shop!
